Dermal Fillers are not a prescription only medicine. Due to no regulation with using and administering fillers is it vital that you use a qualified professional for this type of treatment option. There are countless fillers on the market in the UK, and not all of them have clinical trials to support their use. At Roger Compton Aesthetics, the hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used must have a proven safety profile and efficacy before being considered. Subsequently the only brands we would consider using are the ones which have FDA approval (around 5 brands in the UK). So if you are looking for Dermal Fillers Wakefield please contact us.

I recommend waiting 24 hours

It is recommended that following peels, the skin is allowed to recover for 4-6 weeks before undergoing dermal filler treatment.

The most common issue is a mild stinging or burning sensation as the product is injected. This is reduced significantly by using a local anesthetic cream prior to treatment.

Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6-24 months. This depends upon several factors such as a clients age, skin type and lifestyle.

  • Inflammation, tingling and itching at the injection site are COMMON, and should go within the first few hours
  • Bruising and swelling lasting 1- 2 weeks is LESS COMMON, and should resolve without concern
  • Slight blue discolouration of the treatment area is LESS COMMON
  • Cold sores RARELY erupt following lip augmentation – this should be treated with Aciclovir cream from the pharmacy.
  • Infection is RARE and can be treated with antibiotics
  • Granuloma (tissue nodules) are VERY RARE and can be treated with injection of steroid into the affected area
  • Tissue necrosis (sores) is VERY RARE and usually resolves
  • Hypersensitivity / allergy is VERY RARE and can be treated with antihistamines
  • History of severe allergy or anaphylaxis
  • Known bruising or bleeding disorders
  • Anticoagulant and immunosuppressant drugs
  • Pregnancy / breast feeding
  • DO NOT apply make up or creams for at least 6 hours
  • DO NOT expose the treatment areas to extreme heat (eg sunbeds / sauna) for at least 2 weeks, as this may affect product durability
  • DO gently massage the treatment areas for up to 2 weeks to avoid unevenness
